Definition: digital subject

(1) A topic concerning computers. See digital age.

(2) The contrast to a "digital citizen." In his 2024 book about the dangers of social media, Frank McCourt, Jr. claims while Big Tech makes a fortune on our data, we get nothing but reinforcement of our feelings. In his book, users are "digital subjects" instead of living in a world of "digital citizens."
